COVID Office Moving Case Studies

As the pandemic’s winds have yet to shift in our favor, countless companies have been forced to change course. Many businesses have decided to go long-term or even permanently remote, making big moves in the process. With CDC protocols and PPE procedures in place, Office Movers Express has been able to help its client adjust smoothly and safely.

Case Study #1:

 To remain both safe and operational, 9 different public relations and marketing firms (each ranging from 25-120 employees) within one building all needed to move due to the number of employees working remotely. However, it can be challenging to coordinate packing, the discarding of unwanted items, and unpacking in the middle of these ongoing transitions with so few employees present at the offices. Also, since all of these agencies needed to move within a similar time frame, there were a lot of logistical hurdles. 

With so few people present in the office, our team performed virtual walk-throughs and avoided in-person interaction while packing up and relocating the 9 different agencies. The clients chose to have our movers provide a full service move, meaning we were responsible for packing files, storage rooms, common areas, and providing IT disconnect/reconnecting services. This allowed these firms to move without the requirement of having their team to be onsite. Each agency’s move took less than a week, which allowed plenty of time to decommission and remove all of the furniture and surplus contents from both floors.


Case Study #2:

A large tech company needed to move to a newly renovated space, however it was still undergoing renovations. They needed to coordinate with their employees, a majority of whom working from home, to come in and collect their personal items beforehand. They also needed to figure out how to create a small temporary office space while also storing their additional office equipment in the meantime. 


For safety and convenience, the tech company preferred OMX be responsible for packing office items and desktop computers for their 120 employees, and store their items temporarily for the 4 months needed before their space was finished. Our movers then staged all of their items at a nearby swing space and used a time-slot schedule for their employees to come pick up their contents to ensure social distancing measures were taken. 


Results: 

OMX’s procedures allowed each move to be done efficiently, with little to no in-person contact. With all of our available resources, we were able to cater to each of these business’s needs in a safe and timely manner.
